Sweet Love With You was written by Robert Martinez, a member of the second generation young Star System Express back in the early 80’s. Robert brought the words and the basic chord structure to the band. The individual parts were developed by each of the band members. Though this song was released on the TunCats Out of the DogHouse CD, all parts except for the vocals were recorded by Anthony Chavez one track at a time. It was Anthony’s desire to play every part just as they were played back in the in the day. Imitating Robert’s part on the bass and Dennis ‘Raz” Salazar’s part on the guitar, then Manuel Bernal’s invention on the drums, Armondo Lopez on the congas and Anthony recreating the sound his flawed Hammond organ made with two keys not working properly giving the unique sound back then. Young SSE’s New Year’s 1984 version can be heard in “Young SSE”, in recordings, on this website. This version features Tara Albright Carr singing the lead and Ron Putman the back up vocals on this recreated version of Sweet Love With You.
